An early goal by Julia Jajkowska, combined with a deeply entrenched commitment to team defense and highlighted by a shutout performance from keeper Megan Coutu, was more than enough to lift the Cambrian Golden Shield women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over the Fleming Knights in the cross-over round of the OCAA playoffs last weekend.

Jajkowska was Cambrian's top goal scorer in her first season of OCAA action with five to her credit, including a pair of multi-goal games.

Coming off a season in which expectations were sky high, the Cambrian Golden Shield women's soccer team hosting the OCAA championships with their sights set on a podium finish last fall, there is something to be said for more moderate goals twelve months later.
